Peter, Paul & Mary - Washington Peace March - 1971
What do you want?
PEACE!
When do you want it?
NOW!
I'm following Peacechick Mary and posting a couple of Peace songs by some idols of mine.
In the vein of Peace...
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war
I dreamed I saw a mighty room
Filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They'd never fight again
And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful pray'rs were prayed
And the people in the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round
While swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd never dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.
words by Ed McCurdy
Perhaps you other bloggers can do the same and find a peaceful song to post for others to be inspired.

although I am not religious, I am a sucker for christmas songs. most are about peace and good will. I wish GWB would listen to them once in a while

Aww, that's one of favorites too. Of course to me Imagine is the ultimate song.

Choked up. I was there. Back then, it felt like we had done it, we had stopped a war and we could do anything. Here we are again. Thank you Sumo. That is a beautiful Peace gift.

Graeme...you hit that nail on the head! He just doesn't have a brain in order to listen to...um...much of anything...unless it is to go and kill the little brown man and his family.
POP...Imagine is wonderful...and his Xmas song too.
Mary...thanks.
Happy...it would be the ultimate gift...but our Dub isn't in the gift giving mood I'm afraid.
Mary...So...you were there chanting...WHAT DO YOU WANT? PEACE! WHEN DO YOU WANT IT? NOW! ? Good on you Mary...it must have been awesome. I was in San Francisco marching and chanting...HEY, HEY, LBJ...HOW MANY KIDS DID YOU KILL TODAY?! Awesome!
Commandante...it was better than anything I've seen so far. I'm going to have to link on the main page so more people see it.

"Imagine" is my favorite peace song but Dylan has some good ones too. Peace songs for Christmas is a wonderful idea!
