Somebody Needs To Get Their Head Out Of Their Ass...
I just couldn't believe someone in this day and age could be so stupid to say things like this...IMUS: That's some rough girls from Rutgers. Man, they got tattoos and--
McGUIRK: Some hard-core hos.
IMUS: That's some nappy-headed hos there. I'm gonna tell you that now, man, that's some--woo. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like--kinda like--I don't know.
McGUIRK: A Spike Lee thing.
IMUS: Yeah.
McGUIRK: The Jigaboos vs. the Wannabes--that movie that he had.

Labels: Dumb stuff...

holy crap.
coincidentally, i was just reading on another blog that imus got suspended or something...had no idea what that was about...
if this is what it's about...holy crap.
nappy-headed hos? jeezuz.
i'm sure the "girls from Tennessee" are pleased to know they've got the imus seal of approval--NOT.

Imus is known for his loud foul sayings and he stirs up more hate than anything. He may have been suspended, but I think he needs to get off the air for good. He enjoys trouble-making just for fun and profit.

This idiot who looks like 30 miles of bad road is not worth the energy that has been spent on covering his actions.

Imus is a bigot on all levels. He, and his supporters, are trying to make about, a good guy who made one mistake. NOT!
In one single show over 4 minutes, Imus and his producer hit on the following topics:
- Beating up faggots.
- Knocking over Jewish tombstones.
- Setting homeless bums on fire.
- Anderson Cooper taking it in the poop chute.
- Obama as a colored man.
- Homos.
- Wishing that some "sissy" on American Idol be the victim of a vicious hate crime.
- Shaving Rosie O'Donnell's bush, you'd need a weed wacker.
Note that it's Imus' usual shtick to let his producer be the bigot, with Imus repeatedly saying "no, no, no." Yeah - no no no - then doing the same shtick over and over and over again for years. Imus has been doing bigotry for over 7 years now that I've been following his show. His racist comments about the basketball team were the latest offensive, not the first.
Our press elite, who are Imus suckups, listen to their complaints about the vituperation on the internet, how the bloggers --- especially the "angry left" --- are horrible people who treat them disrespectfully. And I have to laugh because I know that Don Imus can call them and their colleagues twits and pussies in Vanity Fair and they come back licking his boots, begging for more. And we know why.
The worst in my mind is the Jill Carroll attack. Reporter Jill Caroll is kidnapped, held for months and then released. This is the kind of trash the being spewed at her (via Think Progress.) Watch this clip from the Don Imus show.
MCCORD: Put on 20 pounds while in captivity, yeah.
MCGUIRK: And why do we suspect?
IMUS: Well, why do you suspect?
MCGUIRK: She's carrying Zarqawi's baby. No doubt about it.
IMUS: Man, you are a such a, you're a...
MCGUIRK: Did you hear her comments yesterday? She's wearing the terrorist headgear. And everything points to that.
...
MCGUIRK: She's Taliban Janie, this girl. Taliban Jill or whatever.
IMUS: That's a little strong don't you think.
MCGUIRK: I don't think so. Well except for the fact that she seems overly sympathetic. There's something wrong. Something stinks.
Simply disgusting. The Washington Post reported this morning that the garments Carroll wore in her first interview were "given to her by her captors," and that she gained weight in captivity because "she never dared turn down their offers of meals or candy for fear of giving offense."
Talking Heads on Paula Zahn tonight debated whether she had Stockholm (Patty Hearst) syndrome.

What's that annoying little squeak? It's Imus's ass being handed to him off mic.

and i really can't agree with you guys on this one.
why hasn't he got the freedom to say these things? and don't simply throw out being offensive without thinking of what you've said about, let's say, president bush. in truth it is just far easier to blame the ills of our entire society that have not been corrected by any person since the foundation of our country. don't you find it odd that in the few hundred years we've been trying to free ourselves of bias we've only succeeded in driving it deep into the core of every human? i'll admit that if i see a few black guys on the street at night i get nervous. why? because television, the news and every outlet of information keep cramming gangs, violence and stereotypes down my craw. and down theirs.
the real culprit here is our established media outlets and entrenched government. both are outmoded and benefit greatly if we all view each other as a threat.

Jeremy...I do have mixed feelings about Imus. When it comes down to it I don't think he should lose his job. But there does come a time when smart enough people know better than to say stupid stuff. He apologized...and I think it was genuine myself. If he had stayed on the air...perhaps he could have used it in a better way after this situation. I agree he had freedom of speech on his side...but people do need to think of their fellow human beings. As far as calling Dubbie names and such...he deserves it because he has lied...and people have died. I will never cut him slack for his MANY dirty tricks...and those tools that surround him. You are right about the core of our humanity too. I hope this situation means a change for the better. Maybe if only for women...who knows! You are always a fresh and nice perspective here...you just don't drop by enough...I know...you are busy with school.
