Dog-sized Toad found in Australia...I love toadsA giant cane toad the size of a small dog and nicknamed Toadzilla has been captured in northern Australia.
Toadzilla is the biggest cane toad ever found in Australia's Northern Territory and weighs just under two pounds, according to an environmental group.
Environmentalists have been trying to stop the spread of the poisonous creatures across the country's tropics.
The toads were introduced from Hawaii in the 1930s in a failed attempt to control native cane beetles.

Oh, I love toads too! Even had one as a pet when I was a kid, kept him in a terrarium outside and caught crickets and worms to feed him. I had a toad planter at work once and even though it was in my office BZ made me get rid of it. "Too ugly" she said.

We had these guys in Hawaii when I lived there and they were large and ugly but I am sure I never saw one even half that large. They kill quite a few dogs in Hawaii every year as they really are very poisonous.

toads are cool, invasive toads aren't. think of it like this, if they go around killing off all the species in australia what are we humans supposed to do there? that's our MO!
and in response, i find it horrible that we are too slothful and greedy to spend the time, effort and money to save the one planet we have got simply because there is a shadow of a doubt. this isn't a trial in a court, this is human existence as a whole that is at stake. fucking ridiculous!

It's a good thing no one has been stupid enough to introduce another invasive species to counter the invasive toads. Some people are so stupid.(And toads remind me of my ex-wife-she had a toad tattoo).
