Bolton Blocked Again!...

The Senate Democrats again blocked the nomination of John Bolton as U.N. ambassador. Allowing for the possibility that der Bushmeister may bypass lawmakers and put him in the job without a confirmation vote. :[
Republican leaders were short 6 of the 60 votes needed to end a procedural hurdle (called a filibuster!) and advance the nomination to a confirmation vote.
The Senate vote of 54-38 to try and overcome the filibuster came after Bush called for an immediate up-or-down vote on Bolton's nomination. (Well I guess they told him!)
Bush said, "We'll, put him in. If they're interested in reforming the United Nations, they ought to approve John Bolton." (Oh...give me a break!)
It was the second failed attempt by the Senate Republican leaders to bring the (much contested) nomination to a vote. There is the possibiblity Bush could just appoint Bolton to the post during the upcoming congressional recess. But a recess appointment is not in the same caliber of a Senate appointment.
Democrats are demanding that the White House release information they say is important to the Senate's review of his fitness for the job. (somebody should review Bush's fitness for his job) Okay...so they want to know whether Bolton, the top U.S. diplomat for arms control, misused intelligence and bullied analysts who did not comform to his hard-line views. (another power hungry asshole boss on the loose!)
What's the big deal? All they have to do is fork over the necessary papers to let the Dems peruse it and make a decision form there. What are they holding onto...and what are they hiding? (I love a mystery!)
The Bushman has on occasion issued recess appointments to sidestep Senate oppostion to his nominees. He coud do this for Bolton during the week-long 4th of July holiday recess or during Congress' month-long August break.
A recess appointment for Bolton would allow him to serve as ambassador until a new Congress is seated in January 2007. (I see this as a done deal myself...why not? Remember Bush has a mandate for crap's sake!)
